Crazy to think right? That there is more than one way other than A SCALE to measure your progress?? IT’S TRUE! IT’S TRUE! IT’S TRUE! I’m screaming it from the highest mountain.

Nothing drives me crazier than females who obsess over the scale. YES, i used to be one of the females that i just can’t stand. I used to step on the scale before and after meals, half way through the day, before bed, before #2 and after #2. Before you think it, I will say it. YUP I WAS CRAZY. It used to ruin my day. I saw the scale go up 2 lbs or 4 lbs or whatever it was. I was SO stuck on that ‘ideal number’ that i have to hit.

But 55 lbs ago when i started the journey to trying to get my life back on track, i learned many valuable lessons about PROGRESS and the many ways it can be measured. Did you know that when i lost the 55lbs, the number on the scale WAS NOT that ideal number i had in mind when i first started? It was actually 20 lbs more!

But i learned that it wasn’t about the number anymore! Don’t get me wrong, seeing progress on the scale is RAD but having that be what will make or break your progress, needs to stop. So i wanted to put together a blog post so that other who are right now where i once was, can try to find comfort in other ways to progress on your fitness journey.

  4. PICTURES!
Taking BEFORE pictures are huge! Some times it’s not always the most comfortable picture, but it is certainly the most important. Save it for YOUR RECORDS ONLY. Do a picture forward, backward and sideways. Put them in a folder on your computer and take them out when you have a bad day and not sure how far you are progressing. Take another picture and put them side by side, you will be surprised with what a picture will show that a scale WILL NOT.

I started my fitness journey because of the picture I saw of myself (on the left) that was taken at my son's birthday party in June. My cholesterol was also high because I was not making healthy eating choices. So I decided to start the 21 day fix to lose some weight, gain muscle and get healthier. So far I have lost 9 pounds (10 pounds now as well as inches), and I am healthier and feel better!

With eating better and regular exercise you can increase energy, overall health and MOOD!measuring your fitness progress, team beachbody, 21 day fix, fit possible, coaching, challenge groups, fitness support, nutrition, stay at home mom, dog mom, bride to be, bride, engagement, wedding, mom, pizza, graphic tees, t25, insanity max 30, cize, shaun t, get in shape, lose weight, meal plan, portion control, color coded containers, fitness challenge, work from home, fitness business, team beachbody discount, military, 22 hard corps, tony horton, new beachbody program, spring break, boot camp, pt training
  6. EXERCISE
This one is pretty huge believe it or not. You can measure your progress just by simply continuing your fitness plan. You will start to find you can do 10 more push-ups than you did before. 10 more burpees than you did before. 10 more air jacks than you did before. Sky is the limit! But getting stronger and faster is a sign of progress even if the scale does not show it!

Weight is just a number. Stop letting it control your progress. Stop letting the scale frustrate you. Stop letting the scale drive you crazy. Commit to count more than just POUNDS, and see how much more progress you actually make! 😉
